2009 Christmas Letter

Dearest Family and Friends,

2009 has been very good to our family of four! We were so very blessed to have not had any major unfortunate events weigh upon us as so many others have. Although our resolutions for 2009 were not completely met, we feel as though we've exceeded our expectations! We're in the final stages of remodelling our UP house, and hopefully, and God-willing, we'll be able to see the title pass to the next homeowner.

Kayleigh this year began her first year of preschool at St. Jude's Catholic School, and is doing well learning from her teachers, Mrs. Heinz and Mrs. Maroon. She's made many friends, and we have as well through her school. She's still working on her colors, but we were told she does much better when M&M's are involved. She can say the pledge of allegiance, her abc's, and now, the Our Father (which we must note, she prays, "Give us this day, our daily breakfastes, and lead us not into Texas," which we both find hilarious)! She's recognizing many of letters now, but the four/five still confuddles her (she'll usually say one or the other when she's counting). When we see letters, she'll point them out and say, "What lower case is that Mommy?" She's just learning leaps and bounds and we're sooo proud of her.

Kevin turned one in June, and Mommy and he enjoy their time together while Sissy is at school and Daddy is at work. He's very interested in his shoes, and helps bring Daddy and Mommy their shoes when it's time to go somewhere (he even likes to bring them sometimes when it's not time to go somewhere). He says words like No, Don't, I-Wan-Mo', Shoes, Keys, Bye, Hi, Night. He gets very excited when Daddy gets home from work each night, making sure to greet him with shrieks and squeels and a big smile upon his face; he'll then proceed to babble about his day to Daddy.

Daddy is very blessed to be busy at Caterpillar, and Mommy is busy taking care of the house. The photography business has been coming along nicely too. This Christmas marks our TENTH Christmas as a couple. We are so grateful for all that 2009 has brought to us and we have big plans for 2010.
